Dennis Bermudez on Conor McGregor, Aldo, Clay Guida, UFC on Fox 12

July 20, 2014

Dennis Bermudez talks about The Notorious Conor McGregor, and why he’s slightly jealous of the fighting Irishman. Dennis explains how even though he’s on a 6 fight win streak, the attention is squarely on Conor after only 2 (now 3) fights in the UFC. “The Menace” however takes it all in stride and takes his hat off to McGregor, seeing as how he’s built such a following due to “talking a crazy game”. While complimentary, Dennis makes it clear that he isn’t in the fighting business to talk trash WWE style, he’s in the UFC to fight.

Bermudez also talks about the drama surrounding UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and number 1 contender Chad Mendes. Dennis makes a prediction over who will walk out the champion, and how he stacks up against each man.

Dennis takes on his stiffest test to date, in the hungry veteran Clay Guida at UFC on Fox 12 on July 26th. Bermudez has been unstoppable since December of 2011 when he lost to Diego Brandao via armbar at the Ultimate Fighter Season 14 Finale. He was coached by Jason Mayhem Miller and placed runner up. Since then, he has blitzed past Pablo Garza, Tommy Hayden, Matt Grice, Max Holloway, Steven Siler, and knocked out Jimy Hettes.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor has only had 3 fights in the UFC, but won all of them against Marcus Brimage, Max Holloway, and most recently against Diego Brandão at UFC Fight Night 46 Dublin in Ireland.

Both men are looking to notch eye catching performances that will vault them towards a featherweight title shot.
